This page is part of the contract for every purchase from dp3parts.com, together with our Terms of service, Refund policy, Shipping policy, and Privacy policy.

Limited warranty — by product type

1. Dearborn Precision torque converters (we manufacture)

We warrant the torque converter itself against defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of original purchase, to the original purchaser.

If we confirm a defect covered by this warranty, our obligation is limited to repair or replacement of that converter, at our option. The replacement may be new or reconditioned and is warranted only for the unused remainder of the original warranty period.

This warranty is for the part only. It does not cover any related or follow-on costs, including:

  • Removal, installation, or reinstallation labor
  • Shop labor, diagnostic time, alignment, or programming
  • Transmission work, fluid, filters, coolers, lines, or other parts
  • Shipping, freight, packaging, or core charges either direction, unless we agree in writing for that claim
  • Towing, rental vehicles, downtime, lost races, lost wages, or lost profits
  • Meals, travel, lodging, or shop supplies
  • Damage from improper installation, wrong application, incorrect stall/spline/bolt-pattern selection, lack of cooler flow, contamination, overheating, abuse, racing use beyond the stated design, modification, or failure to follow the installation notes on the product page

2. Parts we resell (other manufacturers)

Solenoids, clutch plates / friction and steel, gasket and seal kits, valve-body kits, pumps, and other components we buy and resell are covered only by that manufacturer’s warranty, if any.

  • We do not add a Dearborn Precision warranty on those parts
  • We will help you identify the maker and start their claim
  • Whatever that maker covers — and whatever they exclude — is the entire warranty for that item
  • Opened electrical parts, friction/steel modules, and gasket/seal kits are not returnable except for defect or our shipping error (see Refund policy)

How to make a warranty claim

  1. Email sales@dp3parts.com before returning anything. Include order number, photos, and a short description of the issue.
  2. Do not ship a part back until we issue a return authorization.
  3. Converters we build may need to come back freight-prepaid for inspection.
  4. If a converter claim is approved, we will repair or replace the converter as stated above.
  5. Resold parts follow the manufacturer’s process. We will not repair or replace a resold part under our converter warranty.
  6. If a claim is not approved, we will tell you why and discuss options.

Installation by a professional shop is recommended. Verify transmission type, input shaft, pilot, and flexplate bolt pattern before install. Installing the wrong converter, or installing a damaged unit, voids the converter warranty.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Dearborn Precision Performance Parts is not liable for incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim related to a product will not exceed the amount you paid for that product.

Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of incidental/consequential damages, so parts of this notice may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may also have other rights that vary by state.

Other terms

Nothing on this site is a guarantee of horsepower, ET, or a specific stall on your vehicle. Stated stall ranges are design targets under typical conditions. Actual flash stall varies with engine power, vehicle weight, converter charge, and chassis setup.
